Abstract
In learning process, it will be very possible that teacher find out some problems in classroom. One of the problems is students get difficulties to comprehend texts. Many students are expected to comprehend the text. However, in fact, there are some problems faced by students in reading activity. For example, many students get bored to read a book. It is because most of student does not do reading activity as their habit. They think that this activity is not effective. One of learning model is CIRC technique. First, this technique gives positive effects on students' reading skill. The effect is not only academic knowledge but also social knowledge. Second, it can give choice for students to interact and cooperate with their friends. The students do series activities in a group. Therefore, it can create good atmosphere and makes them more interested in learning the material. The researcher uses descriptive qualitative as research methodology. It used in order to know the implementation of CIRC technique in teaching reading narrative text and to know students' responses toward the implementation of CIRC technique in teaching reading narrative text. The researcher uses observation sheets, questionnaire and documentation as research instrument. Observation sheet is used to know the students' and teacher activities in learning process using CIRC technique. Questionnaire is used to know the students' responses toward the implementation of CIRC technique in teaching reading narrative text. Then documentation is used to know the data cannot take from other instrument. They are syllabus and students' reading work. Based on the result of study, the researcher concludes that the implementation of CIRC technique is not doing well by the teacher. Because there are many problems such as the limited time in learning process and the all indicators in observation sheet is not do well by the teacher. CIRC technique is appropriate in teaching reading narrative text because some reasons. They are the students can discuss and cooperate in group work and they the students score was increased in every meeting.
