Accommodating kinesthetic student during online learning in EFL class

During online learning, learning process decreases practical learning and less in-person interaction with students and teachers. According to their learning styles, adaptation by kinesthetic students may have been challenging. A kinesthetic student tends to do physical movement to learn something rather than simply listening to a lecture or watching a demonstration. This qualitative study aims to investigate what are teacher’s accommodations for kinesthetic students in online learning and to explore teachers’ rationale in designing lesson activity to accommodate kinesthetic students during online learning. This study used descriptive qualitative and interview as the instrument to collect the data. The finding showed teachers used three accommodations such as presentation accommodation, testing accommodation, and timing and scheduling accommodation. In every accommodations are applied several tools and platforms to engage kinesthetic students and some strategies that are used during online learning. On designing lesson activity teachers have several rationale to consider in designing activity to accommodate kinesthetic student, the first is adjust learning objective to the need of kinesthetic student, the second is combine multimedia, and the third is offer alternative assessment
