Perilaku keagamaan mualaf pasca konversi agama di Mualaf Center Yayasan Nurul Hayat Surabaya

The problem of religious conversion is always interesting to study and elaborate from various perspectives of human life. In the search for the truth of God and religion, it has been carried out since the Prophet Abraham until now, making people try to verify the types of root causes of the emergence of someone to convert to religion. In this study, it becomes more interesting when there are many phenomena of religious conversion in society such as in the city of Surabaya, whose society is heterogeneous in terms of ethnicity, social and religion. This study tries to trace back the root causes of religious people such as Catholics and Christians who converted to Islam and changes in behavior after converting to religion in the city of Surabaya, especially the perpetrators of religious conversion who converted to Islam or converted to Islam at the Nurul Hayat Surabaya institution. The research method used by the researcher is qualitative, this is important so that the basis for the research can be used to analyze data from theories and data from the field, so that the author hopes to be able to understand and reveal again the various patterns of causes of religious conversion and its guidance and changes in religious behavior of converts after religious conversion. This study concluded that the cause of individuals converting to Islam is due to the guidance of God and the marriage factor. The coaching they did was to attend 24 meetings for 3 months. Meanwhile, changes in religious behavior after religious conversion were to deepen Islamic teachings starting from prayer, fasting and memorizing short letters in the Quran.
