The use of podcast as a tool to promote english speaking: a meta analysis of published articles

Podcast in the field of speaking is the way for students to learn media, especially podcast media. This is to improve their English speaking skills with confidence. This study aims to conduct a quantitative meta-analysis on podcasts as a tool to promote English speaking. The research questions are: 1.) How effective is the podcast as a tool to promote speaking English? This study uses eight articles from 2012-2022 at the junior high school, high school, and college levels. The instrument of this research uses a coding sheet that is analyzed to produce conclusions. This finding shows that the effectiveness of podcasts as a tool to promote speaking English has a good effect on students and reaches an average of 2.27 effect sizes with large categories.
