Nicky’s survival in USA in winter dreams and the invincile summer novel by Maggie Tiojakin

This study aimed to describe the survival experienced Nicky’s F. Rompan as the main character in Winter Dreams and Invicible Summer Novel by Maggie Tiojakin. This study also described the factors that survival in USA her social condition, several jobs and how the main character overcomes her struggle for better life. This study uses qualitative approach in relation to the use of clear and systematic description about the phenomena being studied. Descriptive study in textual analysis was applied in this study to analyze conversation of the main characters through the novel. The data were collected by first read the novel. Here, the researcher finds some quotations and narratives from this novel that suit the issue discussed in this study. The analysis was continued by identifying the main characters and survival in USA for better life. The results of this study indicate that Nicky's character is a brave, independent, jealous, intelligent, kind and anxiety. In the internal and external conflicts that occur to the main character, it occurs in the life of his family and friends, namely his struggle for survival, red dreams of various jobs and accepting the reality of Nicky's life as a foreigner in another country. The researcher explains how the main character's survival in describing the characters and conflicts that occur in survival the main character's for getting a better life
