Abstract

Macrofouling is a macroorganism sticking and damaging. The sticking of macrofouling on the pole stake of Suramadu bridge will cause damage due to the presence of the biota. The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of oceanographic factors on the sticking rate of macrofouling on the Suramadu bridge pole. The method used on the determination of observation points is purposive sampling in consideration of sunlight and distance of observation points with coastline. This study uses a descriptive medote by analyzing the results of individual macrofouling documentation on the Suramadu bridge pole. Individual macrofouling Data obtained using a transect of size 20 × 20 cm. Results of the measurement of oceanographic parameters at both stations, temperature 30 – 31 °c, brightness 0.1 – 0.2 m, salinity 23 – 30‰, PH 7.1 – 7.4, dissolved oxygen 3.0 – 3.6 mg/l, content of nitrate 12 – 17 ppm, phosphate content 13 – 19 ppm, current speed of 0.40 – 0.50 m/s. Diversity in the station I (south side) and II station (north side) has a low diversity value due to the dominancy of one type of macrofouling. The forging rate of macrofouling on station I 3175 ind/m2/week point A (east side) and 3875 ind/m2/week point B (west side), observation station II has a forging rate of 8700 ind/m2/week point C (east side) and 16544 ind/m2/week point D (west side). Analysis of relationship with Principal Component Analysis between oceanographic parameters with macrofouling sticking of rate, obtained results of salinity parameter relationship, brightness, DO and nitrates have a positive relationship (unidirectional), the lower the salinity, brightness, DO and nitrates then the sticking rate decreases, for temperature parameters, pH, phosphate and the current obtained result of negative relationship (opposite), the higher the temperature, pH, phosphate and current then the rate of sticking will decrease.
