Comparative study the main characters of Bridget Jones’s Diary in the novel and movie

This study discusses then compares the main characters in a novel and movie entitled Bridget Jones’s Diary. This study just focused on the main characters, that is Bridget Jones, Mark Darcy, and Daniel Cleaver because those three characters bring the story into life.Even though the title is the same, the different media of art presented different ending between the novel and the story. The researcher is eager to find out the differences and similarities between the novel and the movie.This study used New Criticism to explain the characters, the ecranisation to explain adapted novel to movie, and comparative literature to compare the characters. The results of the study show that there are similarities and differences in the characterization of the three main characters in the novel and in the movie which brought different ending.
