This study aims to explain about Abels struggle to get better life in America in the novel Kane and Abel written by Jeffrey Archer. The explanation from this study is talking about Abels struggle to survive his life by looking a better life in America. The purpose of this thesis is to explain the chronological events of Abels journey to America. Abel moved from one place to another place in hopes of a better life. In this thesis, the author uses new criticism theory and focuses on the chronology of Abels movement. The result of this study shows that Abel successed in Chicago after he worked as a waiter, assistant manager, until he became a manager and build his own hotel. Abels struggle to find his better life by moving from his homeland Poland then continuing his journey to Russia, Odessa, Turkey and success in America by developing his hotel business. The impact of Abels struggle, he could return to Poland after his triumph.
