The correlation between students achievement in vocabulary and reading ability at second grade of SMAN 16 Surabaya

The design of this research is correlation research. It is useful to describe and find out the significance of the correlation between those two variables, variable X (vocabulary) and variable Y (reading). The population of the study is the second grade students of SMAN 16 Surabaya in the academic year 2009/2010. The technuque of collecting data is using test. The result of tests is found out that the mean of the scores of the vocabulary test is 71,56. It means that the mean of the scores of the vocabulary test is good. The mean of the scores of the students achievement in reading comprehension is 73,44, which means that the mean of the scores of reading coprehension tests is good. It mean that there is a significant correlation between students achievement vocabulary and reading ability at second grade of SMAN 16 Surabaya.
