Mitch as an artful person reflected in Grisham's the firm

This thesis focuses on Mitch's who is described as an artful person. Then, Mitch’s artfulness considered to have an important role in his efforts to solve the problems in his life. This thesis aims to know the characteristics of Mitch and how the characters help him to solve the problems in his life. To answer the statements of the problems, researchers use new criticism theory that focuses on character and characterization. This thesis is using qualitative approach. In the end of the research, the thesis writer found if Mitch is an intelligence person, skillful, critical, crafty and persuasive person, those all which are contained in Mitch's artfulness. By the artfulness he has, Mitch was able to identify the problems, and then by his artfulness, Mitch also was able to strategize the effort to solve the problems.
