Abstract

The design of this study was descriptive. The instruments used in this study consisted of observation checklist, interview, documentation of lesson plan and students score, and questionnaire. The data are analyzed by using descriptive technique. The result of the research shows that: the DART strategy was a good technique is the reading class since almost all of the students showed their interest to involve actively in the reading class and their better works regularly for three times. From the questionnaire., it found that the student's responses to be used of DART strategy were good. The result of questionnaire, most of students agreed that English lesson was interesting and useful. Their motivation was increase since the DART strategy was be applied. Then, after the application of the DART strategy, the teacher found many advantages in their reading comprehension. Finally, after analyzing the data, the finding showed that the application of DART strategy that the teacher used is very useful and give many advantage to the students, the students feel interest in reading activity and their re.ading comprehension improved And actually the students like to the reading activity since the teacher applied DART strategy in the reading analytical exposition. But, the strategy that is used by the teacher should be varied so that it will not make the students get bored and less motivated. Teacher should pay attention not only to the lesson but also to the condition of the students. In the classroom students should be the center of the teaching-learning activity.
